WhatsApp’s New iOS Privacy Features Beta

If you’ve ever wished you could hide your “last seen” or profile photo from just some people on WhatsApp, good news! WhatsApp is testing a new privacy feature on iOS that gives you more control over who can see your info.

What’s Changing?

WhatsApp is rolling out a privacy update currently in beta for iPhone users. that lets you choose specific people to hide your info from.

Before, you had basic options like

Everyone

My Contacts

Nobody

Now, there's a much more flexible choice:

 “My Contacts Except…”

This means you can hide your last seen, online status, profile photo, or about info from certain people—without blocking them or making it obvious.

Why This Is Awesome?

The phrase "Why This Is Awesome" suggests that something is being presented as exceptional, remarkable, or outstanding in a way that is truly impressive or delightful. Or you just want more space.

This update lets you stay in control without creating unnecessary drama.

You’re not ghosting; you’re just… setting boundaries.

How to Use It. If You Have the Beta?

Open WhatsApp.

Go to Settings > Privacy.

Tap on Last Seen & Online, Profile Photo, or About.

Still in testing?

The first is a button to mute the microphone when an incoming call is displayed directly in the notification bar. This allows the user to answer the call with the microphone turned off right from the start.

Final Thoughts

This update is a small but powerful step toward making WhatsApp feel a little more private and personal. It’s all about letting you decide what to share and with whom.

So, next time you feel like flying under the radar, just remember
